Responding to Jesus…

But Lord, when did I see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?  He will reply, “I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”

Above are two passages from the end of Matthew chapter 25, words that apply to all of us today.  Many of us give to the Food Pantry and support the Direct Assistance Program with dollars given to our Faith Promise goals, but there is another way we can respond – we can give of our time.  Do we forget or do we purposely look the other way in hopes someone else will do it?

Volunteers are needed to help interview people once or twice a month on Monday or Thursday morning f
rom 10:00am to noon at the Congregational Unitarian Church for the Direct Assistance Program. PADS needs volunteers who will work one 4 or 5 hour shift per month.  The shifts are:

                            6:30pm - 10:00pm

                          10:00pm - 3:00am

                            3:00am - 7:00am

There is also a need for replacement pillows and blankets and always a need for tube socks.

Call Renee Witt 815-338-8559 and see what you can “do” for the Lord.
