Our Own Missionaries!

Yes, two of our own fellowship, members of our congregation!

By the time you read this, Gary and Laura Spice may be “on station” at the Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, Illinois.  They will be working full time during the month of February, overseeing the many volunteers who will be working there during the month and also doing any number of other necessary duties.  They join the MMDC staff as volunteers, without pay, but receiving an abundance of satisfaction in serving others.  God doesn’t call everyone to be missionaries into deepest, darkest Africa or the wilds of the Amazon.  Sometimes He sends them closer to home.  But true missionaries they are, just as necessary as those that are serving in some far away land.  We praise Jesus for their dedication and hearts that care for those less fortunate.

While members of the Adult Mission Trip Team last year, the Spices felt the call to do more for Christ and His Kingdom.  The MMDC Director confirmed that call.  We give Gary and Laura our highest honor and praise and surround them with our prayers as they serve God in this way.
